Shiatsu found me 15 years ago at a transitional stage in my life, after years of martial arts training and competitive Marathon running, I was ready to tread a softer path. Receiving my first Shiatsu treatment had a profound effect on me, not only did it improve my physical well-being, but it also completely changed my mindset, guiding me on a journey of self-development and discovery, that led to the beginning of my formal Shiatsu training with the British School of Shiatsu in London.
Training and Experience:
I spent two years part-time study in London learning advanced Shin Tai techniques, together with 5 Element and Zen Diagnosis methods from experienced tutors with a direct lineage to the Masters of Japan. I am presently finishing a further 2 years with the Shiatsu College in Norwich where I developed my understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine and its application to diagnosis and treatment. During my time at Norwich I have been lucky enough to be tutored by Clifford Andrews and Dinah John, well respected and vastly experienced Practitioners who are recognised throughout the UK and Europe as pioneers of Shiatsu.
During my training and since I have given Shiatsu to people of all ages and backgrounds including children. I have supported people with the effects of stroke and terminal illness and have helped people manage depression, PTSD and other emotional problems. More recently I have been working with elderly residents of a local daycare centre.
